1. Why we have this policy
TellerCat talks to real people on behalf of real businesses. This policy keeps those conversations honest and safe, and protects the channels every customer relies on. It forms part of our terms of service.
2. What isn't allowed
- Anything illegal, or helping anyone else break the law.
- Spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or contacting people who haven't agreed to hear from you.
- Misleading people, impersonating someone else, or hiding that a reply comes from an AI when asked.
- Fraud, phishing, or collecting passwords, payment card details or other secrets through conversations. Use payment links instead; TellerCat does not support storing card data (PCI) at launch.
- Harassment, hate, threats, or content that sexualises minors.
- Medical, legal or financial advice presented as coming from a qualified professional when it isn't.
- Processing health records or other data that needs HIPAA compliance. TellerCat does not support HIPAA at launch.
- Trying to break, overload, reverse engineer or get around the limits and security of the service.
- Using TellerCat to build a competing product, or reselling it without our written agreement.
3. Channel rules
Every connected channel has its own rules, such as Meta's WhatsApp Business, Messenger and Instagram policies, and the rules of telephone and email providers. You must follow them. Breaking them can get your number or account banned by the provider, which we can't reverse.
4. Voice calls
If you turn on call recording, keep the spoken consent notice in place. Outbound calls are for reminders and callbacks to customers who have agreed to be called. Keep your do-not-call list up to date, call only within permitted local hours, and don't use TellerCat for automated outbound sales calls to people who haven't agreed to them. The agent always says it is an AI at the start of a call and offers a way to opt out.
5. What happens if this policy is broken
We may remove content, pause an agent or channel, or suspend an account. Where it's safe to, we'll explain why and give you a chance to fix things first.
6. Reporting misuse
If you think someone is misusing TellerCat, tell us through our contact page and choose "Security and privacy".
