1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use this website and, once it opens, the TellerCat platform. By creating an account you agree to them on behalf of your business, and you confirm that you have authority to do so.
TellerCat is in development and not yet available to customers. Before it opens we will publish the final version of these terms, including the legal entity you contract with, and ask you to accept them when you sign up.
2. The service
TellerCat lets your business set up AI agents that answer customers across messaging channels, email, web chat and the phone, with a shared inbox where your team can take over any conversation. We may improve and change features over time. If we remove something you rely on, we'll give you reasonable notice.
3. Your account
- Keep sign-in details secure and tell us promptly about any unauthorised use.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account, including what your team members do.
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
4. Your content and your customers
You own the content you add to TellerCat, such as your website content, documents, settings and conversation history. You give us permission to use it only to provide the service to you. We don't use it to train AI models.
You are the controller of your customers' personal data and we are your processor. Our data processing terms form part of these terms and apply automatically.
5. AI-generated replies
TellerCat is designed to answer only from the knowledge and tools you give it, and to say so or hand over to your team when it doesn't know. Even so, AI can make mistakes. You are responsible for:
- keeping your knowledge, prices and policies accurate and up to date;
- reviewing how your agent behaves, using the tools TellerCat provides;
- being open with your customers that they may be talking to an AI agent, as the law requires.
6. Connected channels
When you connect channels such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, email or a phone number, you must follow the rules of those providers as well as ours, including Meta's messaging policies such as its 24-hour customer service window. If a provider suspends or limits your channel, that is between you and the provider, though we'll help where we can.
7. Acceptable use
You must follow our acceptable use policy. We may suspend an account that puts other customers, the people they talk to, or the service at risk. Where it's safe to, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
8. Plans, fees and cost caps
- Plans are billed monthly in US dollars and include an allowance of AI conversations and voice minutes. Usage beyond the allowance is metered per conversation and per voice minute and billed at the end of the month, as shown on our pricing page. UK VAT is added where it applies.
- New accounts start with a 14-day free trial that includes a small allowance and needs no card. The trial has no overage. When it ends, the account becomes read-only until you choose a plan.
- WhatsApp message fees and phone-carrier fees are charged at cost and shown as separate lines on your invoice.
- Overage is limited by a monthly cost cap. It starts at 100% of your plan price, and you can change it. TellerCat won't charge for AI usage above the cap you set. When the cap is reached, the agent hands conversations to your team instead.
- We'll give you advance notice of any price change, and it applies from your next billing period.
- You can cancel at any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
9. Ending the service
You can close your account at any time. Before you do, you can export your data. After the account closes we delete your data as described in our privacy policy and data processing terms.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. We aim for 99.5% monthly availability and will publish it on a status page, but there is no contractual service level agreement at launch. The rest of our liability position, including any limits, will be set out in the final terms published before launch.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts will deal with any dispute.
